Do you have those friends that no matter how much time passes, when you get together, it is as if no time has even passed at all?! That is exactly how I felt when our wonderful friends from our college days came for a visit over the weekend. It was as if we had simply picked up exactly where we left off! Well, you know – other than being married, owning homes, & having careers & families now. haha.
A little background – Brooke & I met while attending college at Samford University. We instantly hit it off as friends & spent many many hours together, studying & laughing…and laughing some more. I moved from Samford to EKU to finish up my B.S. in Biology in 2004 & finally settled down in Knoxville with my husband in 2005. She headed back home to Atlanta, finished up her degree (& is currently pursuing another degree!), got married, & had her sweet baby boy. We live a few hours apart & had not seen each other in 8 years! So, a visit was definitely overdue, & I hope that we make it a point to do it more often. Did I mention that her baby boy is only 10 days younger than Branson?! How crazy is that?
Anyway – they are seriously the funniest, sweetest friends, and we are so happy that they are a part of our lives! Of course, I could not let them leave without capturing a few images. So, we grabbed lunch at Calhoun’s on the River & made sure that they knew the awesomeness that was just around the corner (haha – they are NOT Tennessee fans, although I am not sure how anyone could be anything but!). Afterwards, we did a mini session at Volunteer Landing before they had to head home. But be assured that there will be more of them on the blog in a few months, as we are planning a get together with the kids at an apple orchard this fall!!
Brooke, David, & Baby Blake – thank you all for coming to visit us! We enjoyed every second & cannot wait to spend time with your sweet family again!!
Is he not the cutest?
How fun are they?! Love this family!
