It’s that time again – 10 on 10 blog circle with the talented ladies of Light Inspired!

Want to see what my family & I have been up to this past month?

The really big exciting news in our house is that little miss added a new shiny accessory to her wardrobe…

a cute little pair of glasses!

LOTS of playtime, as usual…
We have had a lot of rain lately, but when it is sunny, we make it a priority to head outside to burn some of that never-ending energy my kids seem to possess!

A little healthy shopping…

Little miss insisted on pushing her own cart & filling it up instead of the large one! It was getting pretty heavy & difficult for her to push toward the end.

We also enjoyed a visit to Great Grandma Southerland. She seemed to really love seeing the kids & the kids her!

Oh, & we cannot forget the driving lessons for little miss or daddy’s little helper, following him around wherever he goes! Little man loves to be in the middle of everything, especially if it involves “twactows!”

Emma’s New Specs | Knoxville, TN Child Photographer

Another personal post this week, as it has been an eventful one already! Besides visiting potential schools for little miss to attend (with another visit for her today!), Emma has added something new & shiny to her wardrobe accessories – brand new glasses!

Now, this is probably not many people’s dream accessory & will take some adjustment time for her, but I think she looks pretty darn cute in her new specs! The eye exam visit itself we will skip – mainly because I forgot my camera (I know – how is that even possible?!) & the fact that it was quite dramatic after having gone through the exam & still having to have her eyes dilated. No.fun.at.all. So, we move on to today when we went back to pick up her new brown with pink polka dots glasses.

We had to wait for a bit. iPhones are great for keeping kids busy (as are naps, which Branson decided to take in the stroller)…

She was a little excited…

Mine on Monday {Emma’s 5th Birthday Party} | Knoxville Child Photography

I am not sure when it happened…when my sweet baby girl became big enough to be 5 years old! A whole hand! How is that even possible?! I have not done her official five year old session, but it is coming soon…PROMISE! Her official birthday is March 21st, but we always try to push her party back a couple of weeks to allow the weather to be a little more predictable & warm. Does it always work? No. However, this year was a perfectly beautiful high 70′s day filled with sunshine & happiness.

If you know Emma, you know that she knows exactly what she wants 99% of the time. And she has wanted an Ariel (Little Mermaid) party for months now. I think she chooses next year’s theme the day after this year’s party – haha! I, like many moms, had visions of a Pinterest perfect party & had pinned a gazillion awesome ideas, only to do what I always do. Time gets away from me, & I am scrambling the week of, trying to make it as cute as possible. I did manage to hang “seaweed” from the chandelier, along with poms & such to help make it not so commercial. And I might have spent a few hours the night before designing her welcome sign, which I am extremely proud of. Flounder?! Freehanded…yep, I drew that!

Featured Product | Albums {Coffee Table & Brag Books}

Ahhh! I cannot tell you how excited I am to show you this product! I am simply IN LOVE with these particular albums for two reasons…

1. The sweetness found in the ones photographed is my own little family {photos taken by the amazing Jenny Cruger)!
2. These coffee table & brag book albums are timeless & classic – ones you will show off for years to come.

I had all these gorgeous images from our family session with Jenny back in the fall. My husband thought my idea to wallpaper our entire house with said images would be a little crazy. I don’t necessarily agree, but we both must live here. haha! Plan B – I have been trying to decide on another wall gallery display (I have a couple already), but I knew I could not fit ALL of the images in a couple of those. So, I decided to make myself a custom coffee table album (I chose the 10×10) to show off all the gorgeousness I had sitting on my computer waiting to be printed (the downfall to digitals, in my opinion – we tend to keep them there & not print them to share them with the world…or at least our friends & family). Anyway, since I had my own album set out for everyone to look at, I thought I would take a few shots to show you the amazing quality & beautiful craftsmanship of these albums.

These are truly custom albums. We work together to design your album from your session’s images.

Starting with the custom cover.

You have many options for the inside spreads – from full spread layouts to multiple images per page.

The pages are made of thick, photographic paper versus press printed, allowing the images to keep their gorgeous quality.

And last, but definitely not least, the brag books are a mini version of the coffee table albums. In a 5×5 size, they are perfect for showing off & great gifts for grandparents!

10 on 10 | Light Inspired Blog Circle

So here it is – my first 10 on 10 blog circle post.

I mentioned last month that our themed blog circle was ending then but not to fret – the talented ladies at Light Inspired had something new planned. As much as I liked the themed blog posts, it was sometimes more difficult for me to keep up with since I had to figure out images to fit that particular theme or intentionally take them. Not that that is a bad thing – just a little more time consuming than I could tackle some months. This new blog circle is as simple as it sounds – 10 images from the last month posted on the 10th of every month! Much easier to manage, I think.

So, on the 10th of each month, I will post 10 of my favorite photos from the past month. This has already proven harder than I thought since I chose images of my sweet babies, & I have so many favorites because, well, they are just so darn cute! haha. Here is a glimpse into our past month…hope you enjoy!

It has been warming up around here, which means we are spending tons of time outside {bare feet & all!}.

My sweet girl has been wanting to learn to read for some time now. She absolutely loves books & bedtime stories! So, what better gift than a tag reader for her 5th birthday?!

Snow Day {Mine on Monday} | Knoxville, TN Photographer

Only in East Tennessee can we go from the low 70′s to snow in a matter of days! haha. We were pounded with several inches of rain in the beginning of last week. The pond on our land, as well as the river below, were overflowing as proof! However, a cold front pushed through & turned the rest of what would have been nasty, dreary rain into HUGE snowflakes. My children’s faces were priceless as they watched out the windows & doors at the beautiful flakes fall to the ground. Emma immediately declared that she wanted to go outside to make snow angels (something she has been talking about for a while now)!! We did not get out the first evening, as there was some sleet mixed in, but first thing Friday morning, I grabbed their snowsuits, bundled them up, & headed outside. Branson was over it pretty quickly & wanted to come in. Emma was not done playing yet & continued to do so outside on the deck until little man went down for a nap. Then, she & I headed back outside for a bit to let her enjoy what may very well be the one & only snow this winter here.

We threw snowballs, made a tiny snowman, & attempted to make snow angels. Even though the snow was a little too icy at that point to do much, we enjoyed ourselves! By late afternoon, most evidence of any white stuff on the ground had melted at our house, though, making Emma less than a happy camper. haha! Here are a few shots from our little snow day.

Did I mention that it was crazy foggy?!
